The Mosaic Carlsbad Mine located in New Mexico, produces KMag, a unique fertilizer product delivered to farmers around the world for use in agriculture and in a variety of industrial environments.
Are you our next Chemist Technician?
The Chemist Technician is responsible for the analysis of all routine and non-routine shipping, production, development, and special assays submitted by the operation and any other samples as directed by the laboratory supervisor. This is a salaried, non-exempt position working a 12hr rotating shift schedule.
What will you contribute?
- Chemical analysis of routine production samples.
- Chemical analysis of daily mine samples.
- Chemical and screen analysis of daily shipping samples.
- Maintenance of laboratory equipment and housekeeping.
Our Ideal Candidate Will Have the Following:
- High school diploma required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related degree preferred.
- 0-3 years of experience in a related industry.
- 3-5 years of experience in a lab environment preferred.
- Working knowledge of MS Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Basic computer skills are required.
- Must possess basic math skills and have a fundamental knowledge of the metric system.
- Must also possess the ability to solve problems and be capable of working without direct supervision.
- A fundamental knowledge of chemical and mineralogical relationships is preferred.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.

- Able to read, write, and understand basic English.
- Able to see, with or without correction.
- Able to travel unassisted.
- Able to use fine hand motor skills.
- Able to wear a respirator.
- Able to work rotating shifts and overtime as required.
- Physically able to use standard safety equipment which is rated for 300 pounds or less.
