Our growing group of family-owned independent pharmacies with stores in Chattanooga, Jasper, Dunlap, Whitwell and Pikeville all have openings for Certified Pharmacy Technicians. This position is ideal for someone who has a service-oriented mindset with strong interpersonal skills, as well as solid math and organizational capabilities.

Prior work experience as a pharmacy technician and/or successful completion of a pharmacy technician program represents an advantage, including, familiarity with medication and dosage measurement, knowledge of pharmacy law and medical terminology, and prior experience with an online prescription system.

Minimum Position Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Ability to pass criminal background check and drug screening

  • Ability to organize & prioritize tasks/projects
  • Must be able to confidently navigate through multiple programs on a daily basis
  • Must portray outstanding customer service
  • Pharmacy Technician Certification
  • If hired, and you do not currently have an active Pharmacy Technician License with the state, you must register and complete all necessary requirements with the TN Board of Pharmacy within 90 days of hire date. (Background check, fingerprinting, license fee)

Duties will include, but not be limited to:

  • Provide excellent customer service by answering phone calls and greeting customers as they arrive in a prompt and courteous manner
  • Read, interpret, and process physician's medication orders and ensure all information is complete and accurate
  • Preparing new prescription and refill requests for patients.
  • Aid in filling, processing, and dispensing medication
  • Sort, stock, re-package and label medications
  • Process insurance claims and resolve billing issues when they arise
  • Adhere to safety practices in order to ensure quality care for patients.
  • Help monitor and maintain the drug inventory through inventory control practices
  • Triage requests and prioritize them
  • Check for expiration dates on medications on a regular basis
  • Undertake administrative tasks as assigned
  • Be able to listen and understand customers while maintaining composure when dealing with upset or angry customers.

Positions are full-time or part-time, M-F (9am-5pm), with alternating Saturdays (9am-2pm) required.

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
