Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant Job at Edward-Elmhurst Health
General Summary:
Under general supervision and in conjunction with a Occupational Therapist, assists in carrying out individualized programs of occupational therapy. Demonstrates an appropriate level of clinical skill, as evidenced by correctly following individualized and effective treatment plans, in order to achieve precise, functional goals. Develops treatment goals consistent with the occupational therapist’s treatment plan. Provides direct occupational therapy services to patients. Uses excellent communication skills to educate patients and engage them in their own care. Stays updated regarding developments, new techniques, and equipment in the field of occupational therapy. Maintains a well-rounded knowledge base, and clinical reasoning skills to consistently achieve expected clinical outcomes.
Location: Edward Hospital
Hours: Full-time, 8:00am-4:30pm
Required Education and/or Experience:
- Associate degree in Occupational Therapy
- 1 to 3 months of onthejob experience. Clinical affiliations are considered equivalent to on-the-job experience.
Required Licenses/Certifications:
- Current Illinois State License as COTA
- Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) certification
- Current CPR certification issued by either American Heart Association or Red Cross
