Must be 21 years of age or older-High school diploma, GED or have passed the alternative exam established by the department-Must pass criminal background check-Minimum of one-year previous experience as a personal care aide or certified nursing assistant for the elderly in an assisted living or long-term care setting-Must be able to read, write, and speak English-Must be able to communicate effectively with staff, residents, families, and the community-Must have basic computer skills or willing to learn computer skills needed for QuickMAR-Must have the ability to remain calm under stressful situations-Administer medication to residents in accordance with doctors’ orders and state regulations-Complete all required documentation such as but not limited to medication administration records, incident reports, change of condition reports, medication refusal reports and behavioral documentation as requested and required in a timely manner-Must be readily able to assist CNA/PCA with residents care (ADL's) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating, transferring, and mobility when needed for assistance.Requirements:-Must have basic understanding of diabetes which includes diabetic medications, glucometer management, finger stick blood sugar testing, insulin administration and be able to act immediately if/when symptoms of hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia arise-Responsible for observing residents for changes in physical, emotional, mental health, etc. such as, unusual symptoms, medication side effects, accidents, injuries or unusual behavior-Responsible for proper management of narcotic medications to include but not limited to ordering, dispensing, documenting, maintaining, storage, etc.*Weekend incentives offered.
