Job Summary
The Procurement Category Specialist will operate in a rapidly evolving and complex business. As a key member of the category management team, this position will collaborate with key stakeholders to support and deliver the many aspects of our global strategy and sourcing process. The role will be responsible for Sourcing Transportation and Warehouse services that provide the lowest total cost of ownership to the business while ensuring best value. This role requires independent judgment and initiative in the planning, organization, assignment and reporting of work. The position will report to Category Managers and support the following business functions: Supply Chain & Logistics, PSM, and the Commercial/Sales Teams.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities (not restrictive) Support and optimize a robust global strategy for assigned categories Support Category Manager in the development, delivery and communication of the category plan Support the global cross-functional business teams to effectively execute the category strategy Ensure business requirements and needs of each region are well understood and executed within the category plan; work with the Procurement operations team to implement local category management for items outside not covered in the total Procurement category strategies Support Supply Chain team with ongoing SAP tasks such as material creations, extensions and agreement maintenance on a weekly basis Assist in Global Collaboration in the Center of Excellence role (COE) targeted at ongoing harmonization and continuous improvements efforts across all Glanbia business. Create and update monthly market reports for all transportation modes and general Assisting in Global sourcing events with supplier/carrier communications, responses, bids etc. utilizing the Keelvar Sourcing platform Support Glanbia’s sustainability SBTi for Scope 3 carbon emissions reductions through regular data collection and reporting Utilize procurement best practices in all areas to deliver strategic value with assurance of supply, alternate sourcing and risk mitigation/reduction by, but not limited to: Edit, negotiate, and route contracts through Group Legal and signature Upload and maintain Contracts/SLA’s in database repository (ARIBA) Effective resolution of daily issues for assigned category/s Ongoing and effective carrier/supplier relationship management that delivers a mutual advantage Running spend reports regularly Support the savings and avoidance projects as identified and agreed in the category plan: Cost Savings – Understand savings mechanisms within the business and support Category efforts to achieve goals and targets set. Cost Avoidance – Identify opportunities to reduce costs within current operations while exploring new innovations for cost reductions. Drive carrier/supplier performance and development through proactive utilization of regular business reviews, data and communication of business expectations in partnership with Supply Chain stakeholders Support the claims process with clear understanding of carrier/supplier liabilities as they relate to Glanbia Stock Throughput Policy. Collaborate with internal Risk Management, outside Insurance Agents and Glanbia Stakeholders to effectively reach claim conclusion. Regular attendance is an essential function of this position Supports the Category Manager in the Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) and works with carrier/supplier when performance or quality issues become more frequent and/or severe.
Performance Indicators Completeness of SLA/Contract documentation across active Carrier/Supplier base Adherence to project schedules and targets Competency in running tenders in Keelvar and data collection from SAP/TMS/BO and other sources.

Qualification & Experience Requirements
Education, Training: University degree in related field required (equivalent experience in lieu of education will be considered)
Experience Required: Minimum of 3-6 years of business experience; college education may take the place of work experience Working knowledge of and experience with food or fortification manufacturing environment is preferred Understanding of Supply Chain & Logistics Markets across all transport modes
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: An ability to negotiate with diverse set of suppliers across multiple regions and close out negotiations
Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in written form with all levels of personnel within the business unit and in the wider organization, to include excellent writing, negotiation and presentation skills Passionate about the business, will be a strong external ambassador / advocate for the business and will be highly collaborative with the ability to work successfully across teams, regions and functions Analytical with superior problem solving skills over near and long-term planning horizons Strong business understanding and orientation and effectively handles multiple, rapidly changing and conflicting priorities
Ability to work with minimal supervision while remaining productive at all times.
Must be able to work flexible hours to include overtime and weekends when needed
Language, Computer & Numeracy: Fluent in written and spoken English required Experience with and solid understanding of SAP preferred Ability and desire to work within and progress complex systems such as SharePoint, Business Objects and ARIBA also preferred Strong computer skills and proficiency with MS Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Strong math skills required with heavy Data analysis including MS Excel pivot tables, spreadsheets and graphs to report and present performance and spend data in a clear and meaningful fashion.
Ability to initiate and actively participate in video conference meetings
