GENERAL SUMMARY
The Cashier position can be full time or part time and will begin the first week in March. Your primary responsibility will be register transactions involving the sale and/or return of merchandise. You will positively represent Lori's Ace Home & Hardware through assisting customers in a friendly and positive manner. You will also help maintain a clean and orderly merchandise presentation and overall store cleanliness when not at the register.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Customer Service:

• Project a positive representation of Lori's Ace
• Greet customers entering and throughout the store. Thank customers by name, when possible, when they are leaving the store.
• Project a friendly, outgoing demeanor; work well with customers as well as sales associates.
• Clear customer checkout lines quickly and efficiently.
• Answer and monitor all calls and pages promptly, courteously and effectively.
• Continually build product knowledge base and possess the ability to assist customers with store layout and product location.
• Assist in pricing, stocking, marking and bagging of merchandise.

Register Operations:

• Follow all cash register transaction procedures.
• Responsible for balancing of register drawer.
• Participate in store and Cashier meetings.

Front End Appearance and Upkeep:

• Keep the front end, including checkout areas and entrance doors neat and clean at all times.
• Assist with keeping impulse counters stocked and faced, rotate fresh merchandise in as seasons change.
• Ensure fresh ads are stocked in shopping carts at all times.
• Ensure forms and supplies are stocked at all times.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION
High School diploma or GED equivalent.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Superior customer service skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Friendly personality.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to learn store products and services.
• Cashier experience preferred. Customer service experience preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Standing, walking, lifting (up to 25lbs) and climbing.

WAGE: $12-14 per hour depending on experience and qualifications
