Swartz Restoration & Emergency Services is a family-owned business dedicated to helping members of our community rebuild their homes and businesses following a disaster. We are looking for a qualified and experienced carpenter to provide a range of construction and renovation skills to restore residential and commercial properties damaged by water, mold, fire, smoke, and other perils. Our ideal candidate is well-versed in multi-trade skilled construction and highly motivated to learn and grow in their career. Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license with no restrictions and a clean driving record
• High School diploma/GED
• A minimum of 5 years of proven construction/carpentry experience in residential and commercial construction
• A full grasp of the construction process from start to finish, and the ability to coordinate all facets of structural repair and restoration
• Proficient and experienced in the following areas: Drywall, painting, minor plumbing & electrical, framing, cabinetry, finish carpentry (interior trim and door packages, acoustic drop ceilings)
• Strong working knowledge of carpentry principles and building materials
• Ability to operate power tools and other equipment.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen, background check and motor vehicle record check
• Must be willing to be on call 1 week/month to respond to emergency calls
• Professional appearance and a positive attitude
• Must own your own basic carpentry tools
• Must have reliable transportation
• Ability to pass a pre-employment background check, drug screen, MVR check and physical

• Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and equipment safety practices
• Knowledge of technology (iPhone, iPad)

Responsibilities:

• Primarily responsible for completing residential and commercial reconstruction jobs that are assigned by the Project Managers of the structure department
• Perform construction work including but not limited to: demolition, drywall installation & finishing, light plumbing & electrical repairs, kitchen/bathroom remodeling, acoustic drop ceilings, framing, and skilled carpentry.
• Work directly with Project Managers and/or Estimators as to the scope of work to be performed, including budget to complete all repairs within the time frame of the job and within industry standards.
• Follow the scope of work and notify the project manager of any necessary changes
• Safely and effectively operate equipment and power tools
• Perform assigned duties efficiently and effectively to produce the quality of work which consistently meets the standards and expectations of Swartz Restoration & Emergency Services.
• Follow established safety rules and regulations to maintain a safe environment.
• Demonstrate excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills.
• Following instructions from supervisors and implementing construction plans.

Physical Requirements:

• Constantly position/re-position self to move about job sites, stairs, walkways, confined spaces, etc.
• Occasionally ascends and descends a ladder to complete jobs
• Must be able to stay in a stationary position up to 25% of the time within a vehicle
• Must be able to frequently lift up to 70 lbs., & occasionally lift up to 100 lbs.
