Overview:
POSITION SUMMARY
The Career Development Coordinator is responsible for the oversight of the health disparities grant programs at the Tuba City Regional Health Care Corporation (TCRHCC). The Coordinator is responsible for the daily oversight for the following programs: Pharmacy Technician Trainee, Coding & Billing, Certified Medical Assistant, and Information Technology (entry level position). The Coordinator will act as liaison between outside entities, management, and senior operational leaders in the development of talent pipelines of qualified candidates. The Coordinator is responsible for ensuring all recruitment activities are performed in accordance to the Navajo Preference in Employment Act (NPEA). This is a grant funded position.
Qualifications:

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Business Administration, Allied Health, Healthcare Administration, with an emphasis in Human Resource


Experience:

One (1) year experience in education, teaching, human resources, career counseling, or educational recruitment

A record of satisfactory performance in all prior and current employment as evidenced by positive employment references from previous and current employers. All employment references must address and indicate success in the following areas:

MENTAL AND PHYSICAL EFFORT
The physical and mental demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Position requires travel to recruitment and college fairs. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Requires the ability to handle multiple assignments, balance priorities, and make sound decisions.

Physical:

The work involves prolonged periods of sitting in an office setting operating a personal computer, as well as movement throughout the hospital. Must have ability of prolonged standing, walking frequent bending, maintaining balance, reaching, and occasionally driving, climbing, kneeling, crouching and twisting. The work does require the ability to carry items such as presentation material, packets, and binders. Must be able to frequently lift up to 24 pounds and occasionally over 100 pounds. Must be able to push and pull occasionally over 100 pounds. Must have ability of simple grasping, fine manipulation, use of keyboards and frequent firm grasping. Sensory Requirements are prolonged near vision, color vision, depth perception, seeing fine details, hearing normal speech,

Mental:

Must be able to prioritize and use good judgment and coordinate a variety of issues while being frequently interrupted. Requires the ability to communicate effectively and act with tact and composure in stressful situations. Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Generate and develop programs to address social determinants of health.
  • Act as liaison in coordination with the departmental managers and directors to recruit and retain professional staff by developing career development programs.
  • Coordinate with college, high school, university internship, finance, information technology and ancillary programs to identify immediate and long-term talent acquisition. May coordinate meetings with outside entities and hospital representatives.
  • Perform a preliminary screening of qualified candidates per the Navajo Preference in Employment Act and program criteria. Differentiate and speak to the certification differences for each specialty as related to nursing, medical, education and ancillary division.
  • Initiate consistent and timely follow-up prospective program participants, mangers, directors, and human resource personnel. Maintain regular contact with prospective students and throughout program tenure.
  • Work with hospital personnel, senior leadership, and human resources to coordinate all daily operations for program purposes and recruitment of candidates.
  • Complete all pertinent reports as related to program hiring, recruitment, applicant tracking, and recruitment costs and functions for the programs.
  • Collaborate with the Employee Health Nurse to obtain clearance regarding immunizations for student applicant program participants.
  • Complete program recruitment functions and processes using the applicant tracking system software.
  • Provide information to inquiring vendors on our educational institutions and complete recruiting events on behalf of the program.
  • Coordinate and facilitate meetings and communication between hospital, schools, and any other outside entities.
  • Manage and monitor the use of MOU’s and MOA’s during the recruitment/interview process.
  • Ensure accurate and complete records are established. Maintain accurate and well-ordered documentation on all candidates. Submits reports to CHRO, or designee as related to program activities.
  • Assist in the coordination of program participants regarding onboarding, retention, programs, and outsourcing.
  • Responsible for the management and implementation of the Health Disparities Grant, including initiating requisitions for allowable expenses, managing grant budget, and maintaining compliance with grant reports.
  • Ensure proper PPE is always worn while on duty including but not limited to, face mask, gloves, gown, isolation gown, NIOSH-approved N95 filtering face piece respirator or higher, if available), and eye or face shield.
  • Complete all donning and doffing tasks in a safe acceptable method and discard of used PPE accordingly. (see CDC website for most current updates)
  • Complete task training for all routine cleaning and decontamination processes for all surfaces contaminated by a communicable disease to ensure a high level of patient, visitor, employee, and external customer satisfaction
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
