Léon 1909 (instagram.com/leon1909shelterisland/) on Shelter Island, NY is seeking an experienced full-time Captain/Wine Steward to join our team.

Léon 1909 is a countryside French & Italian restaurant located on beautiful Shelter Island.

The ideal candidate has a guest-first mentality and a passion for hospitality. You show initiative and leadership while at the same time being a great team player. Your wine knowledge is strong and on point.

Position:

• Captain/Wine Steward

Compensation:

• $70K salary
• Paid sick days

Other incentives:

Schedule requirements:

• 35-40 hours weekly
• 5 days weekly
• 3:30pm to 10:30pm

Language requirements:

• English

Experience:

• 2+ years of similar experience in a high-volume upscale-casual, fine-dining, or two-star restaurant
• Ordering & receiving, inventory
• Staff training & motivation
• Selling wine
• Maintaining and building a wine list
