Job Title: Cannabis Trimmer/Packager

Reports To: Trim Manager, cultivation director.

Position Summary: Premium cannabis producer seeking experienced trim and packaging staff for licensed Adult Use/Recreational cultivation facility. Essential Functions:

  • Breakdown flowers off of stem and stalk of plant in order to separate unusable waste from useable product
  • Track the amount of unusable waste for each plant/batch.
  • Trim cannabis to meet company aesthetics, producing the highest quality product efficiently.
  • After breakdown of plant, employee must identify and separate fan leaves, stems and sugar leaves on the flower.
  • Employee must exhibit competency in basic organizational, tracking and communication skills.
  • Employee must be able to work well independently, as well as with others.
  • Employee must be able to adapt to various strains, styles and types of marijuana they are trimming; adjusting their techniques to maintain a steady pace and quality.
  • Time management; employee must manage their time during work efficiently in order to meet goals while consistently producing the highest quality product.
  • Employee must be able to follow basic instructions as well as be able to take constructive criticism from their managers so they can help maintain quality standards and production goals.
  • Employee must show up on time for work every day ready to work.
  • Employee must exhibit personal hygiene and follow the health guidelines, shower prior to shift, wear supplied PPE and coveralls at all time supplied by employer.
  • Trim staff is responsible for clean-up, disinfection of all processing areas and equipment at the end of every day. This also include light janitorial tasks.
  • Maintain the highest level of cleanliness and sterility of workspace at all times.
  • Employee must maintain quality standards, flower integrity and adapt to various strains/techniques.
  • EMPLOYEE MUST TRIM AT LEAST 1 POUND/454 GRAMS OF FINISHED PRODUCT IN AN 8 HOUR PERIOD.

Additional Functions:

  • Ability to be flexible and work in various areas of the company as needed an/or requested by their direct supervisor; this may include but is not limited to, helping grow staff with harvests, small tasks, cleaning and/or moving supplies and equipment and/or helping the packaging department or working elsewhere as needed.
  • Must work well with others and be able to adapt quickly to changes in policy, procedure and technique.
  • Use of independent judgment in regards to product processing, keeping quality, projections and goals in mind.
  • Help create a proactive and positive environment; a positive attitude and self-motivation to help produce High quality manicured product, while meeting and/or exceeding personal and/or company goals.
  • Be able to work with, help, guide, challenge and motivate other trim team members in order to create a cohesive unit.
  • Employee must be able to identify various problems with any strain/product, be able to communicate with direct supervisors as necessary.
  • Time management; employee must manage their time during work efficiently in order to meet goals while consistently producing quality product.
  • Employee must be able to follow basic instructions as well as be able to take constructive criticism from their managers so they can help maintain quality standards and production goals.
  • All employees required to work in packaging and as needed in all departments.

Job Specifications:

  • Trim staff must understand and implement the rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of the company.
  • Trim staff must have a basic understanding of Cannabis laws, rules and regulations set forth by the state and Maine OCP

· Fundamental knowledge, as well as the ability to be taught and guided in areas related to harvesting, drying, packaging, trimming and curing; initial focus on trimming with other areas being taught/expected by employees while still maintaining their capabilities as a trimmer.

· Ability to listen well and communicate effectively

· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all employees, upper management, and other departments.

· Ability to perform a monotonous task with great efficiency over 8-hour work periods without losing quality.

· Maintain a neat, clean, sterile and orderly work environment.

Additional Requirements:

· Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

· Must be a minimum of 21 years of age

· Must pass any and all required background checks

· Must be and remain compliant with any and all legal or company regulations for working in the industry

· Must be approved by OCP and receive an IIC card

Minimum Education and Experience:

· High School Education or GED graduate; some college or college graduate preferred.

· DRY TRIMMING/PROCESSING EXPERIENCE REQUIRED---Preferably 1 year minimum

Working Conditions:

· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to perform grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.

· Must be able to sit for extended periods of time while remaining focussed.

· PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to lift, carry and balance up to 50 pounds (100 pounds with assistance) AND must be able to do so with extreme care and caution when working with plants and product.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00-$21.00 per hour depending on experience and ability.

Bonuses paid.
