Camp Director - Summer Camp Jobs 2023
This person oversees the entire camp day to day operations of the camp. The Camp Director oversees and is responsible for: all summer camp personnel; meeting all state required regulations for licensure; the integrity and implementation of the curriculum; and above all - the safety of all campers.
- Reports directly to the Executive Director of Summer Camps for direction and support.
- Additional tasks include: maintaining positive communication and relationships with the school staff and points of contact; parent communication; medical and emergency procedures manager.
Job Description: The Camp Director’s role is to supervise, coach, and provide constructive feedback to a minimum of six direct reports, while working closely with Summer Camp Advisory Team Headquarters to ensure that each camper has a safe and rewarding experience. Camp Directors are enthusiastic, organized, and motivated individuals. They are confident in their ability to supervise counselor leads, as well as interact with campers, parents, counselors and facility partners. This position will closely and directly monitor all programs to guarantee they are executed to IDEAS Summer Camp's standards. Extremely high energy and endurance is required for the Camp Director position. The Camp Director is the “Last-Word Leader onsite” at all times.

Anticipated Work Hours Per Week:

Camp Dates: June 12 - August 4
Must be able to attend required training:

In-person PAID training on Saturday, June 10 & Sunday, June 11 from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Required education:
- Career or equivalent experience in education or camp-related field
- CPR/First Aid certification
Required experience:
- 3+ years of camp experience or experience in teaching, working in a camp environment, and working with children
- 2+ years experience supervising and developing direct reports
- Comfort with public speaking (to parents, staff and groups of campers)
- Prior camp experience preferred
