This position is responsible for answering phones timely, determining the needs of the caller, and directing them accordingly. The call center staff schedules appointments for medical visits and provides other indirect patient care. Performs other clerical and administrative tasks as required including scanning documents into AllScripts Pro, managing the recall list, and creating patient charts. Maintain medical records including consistently updating insurance and demographic information. May require travel to other offices.

Responsibilities:

  • Answers phone and supports office functions including working with co-workers to ensure phones are covered.
  • Responds to nursing questions and/or make appointments and post op calls.
  • Monitors and follows up on recall list for patients, verifying information in the EHR and verifying authorizations are submitted and entered in system.
  • Monitors and follows up on recall list from printing with demographics and notes, sending to Eligibility & Referral staff, upon receipt of authorizations schedules patients.
  • Track referrals, online reports and follow up with outside radiology groups for timely patient follow up.
  • Schedule appointments maintaining current information for new patient appointment and referrals for vascular lab studies, authorization as required by insurance, and office visits. Includes giving non-medical instructions in preparation of visits.
  • Ensures all patient documentation is in the electronic medical record including current insurance, demographic information and the process is complete.
  • Consult with insurance verifier for necessary authorizations/referrals.
  • Ensure all necessary documentation (i.e. authorization, lab work, order) is in the chart prior to study/procedure including insurance and demographic information.
  • Communicates with staff members, medical staff and other doctor’s offices in a professional manner.
  • Notify staff of any schedule changes.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Computer Skills (Allscripts Pro or EHR experience preferred)
  • Medical Terminology (preferred)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Spanish speaking
  • Ability to participate as a member of a team; reliable and punctual

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $21.00 per hour
