Job Summary:


Softrim is an established Technology Services provider with offerings that include Low-Voltage construction and design services, Managed IT Services, Networking, A/V, Life Safety, Surveillance, and more. We have offices in Estero FL (HQ), Alpharetta GA, and Dallas TX with major clients all over the country.


We are seeking a Low-Voltage CAD Specialist to collaborate with a team of professionals and create complete, coordinated, and cost-effective plans and details for diversified Low-Voltage technologies. The ideal candidate will be able to research, compile, and process information into documentation used by others.


Responsibilities:


  • Create, review, and revise designs for various Low-Voltage technologies
  • Understand and interpret related types of construction documentation (A, MEP, ID, etc.)
  • Utilize drafting and modeling tools (including AutoCAD and Revit) to create detailed drawings, submittals, and documentation for proposed and existing solutions
  • Prepare and revise design documentation and submittals, as-built documentation, owner’s manuals, and other documentation as required by code and/or per/by contractual obligation
  • Upload and maintain current project documentation utilizing Softrim’s Autodesk PlanGrid system

  • Understand and adhere to locally enforced national and local building codes and regulations
  • Understand and adhere to NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) guidelines in design work
  • Research local building codes (as per/by local) as they pertain to Softrim’s Low-Voltage solutions

  • Maintain a positive attitude and develop strong working relationships with all team members

  • Other tasks generally within the scope of CAD specialist responsibilities as assigned by supervisor

Requirements:


  • Demonstrated proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD and Revit (current release, 2019-2022)
  • 5+ years of experience using AutoCAD or equivalent software
  • 5+ years of experience in the Low-Voltage field highly (preferred)
  • Experience reading and interpreting construction documents and specifications

  • Valid Florida Driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • English language (fluent), Spanish language a plus but not required

Essential Skills:


  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience designing some or all the following Low-Voltage technologies: Access Control, Audio/Visual, Cellular DAS, Emergency Responder BDA, Computers (including peripherals), Networking (Switches and Wi-Fi), POS Systems, Nurse Call and Roam Alert, CCTV Surveillance, Structured Cabling, Telephones, etc.
  • Working knowledge of topology concepts such as MPOE, MDF, IDF, riser, conduit, line-of-sight, etc.

  • Able to multi-task, use independent judgement, and following complex instructions
  • Able to adapt and respond to ever changing work situations and environments
  • Functioning independently with little or no direct supervision

  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Employment Terms:


Full-time, Exempt, Salary. Eligible for benefits (medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, disability) and 401(k) after introductory period. Typical business hours are from 8:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. with a lunch break, Monday thru Friday, excluding company-observed holidays. Some weekend and after-hours work may be required.
