Job description
The primary function of this position is to support shop fabrication needs by preparing CAD drawings and producing/fabricating metal parts with Plasma table and other CNC fabrication equipment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Make detailed drawings used to manufacture metal parts or tooling.
- Operate Plasma table to produce and fabricate metal parts as required.
- Operate CNC shop equipment to produce and fabricate metal parts as required.
- Assist with shop fabrication needs as required.
- Prepare submittal drawings for fabrication projects.
- Prepare fabrication drawings for ongoing projects, including detailing steel as required.
- Attend regular development meetings and work closely with Superintendents.
- Address limitations of technologies and materials involved in the CAD process.
- Incorporate feedback into detailed designs for complex projects.
- Ability to analyze data and situations and come up with creative solutions.
- Make revisions to models and drawings as requested.
- Keep up to date on all modern advancement in material and software technologies.
- Pursue ongoing education in the field.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 2 year degree or experience in related field; Bachelors or Certifications (preferred)
- 2+ years of experience utilizing CAD software. CREO preferred.
- Make decisions based on designs.
- Strong communication skills. Ability to collaborate with others to solve problems.
- Firm grasp of mathematics, engineering, and industry information.
- Strong organizational skills and Excellent attention to detail.
- Comfortable with sitting for long periods of time.
- Must be able to pass a drug screen and Criminal background check.
