Job description

The primary function of this position is to support shop fabrication needs by preparing CAD drawings and producing/fabricating metal parts with Plasma table and other CNC fabrication equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Make detailed drawings used to manufacture metal parts or tooling.
  • Operate Plasma table to produce and fabricate metal parts as required.
  • Operate CNC shop equipment to produce and fabricate metal parts as required.
  • Assist with shop fabrication needs as required.
  • Prepare submittal drawings for fabrication projects.
  • Prepare fabrication drawings for ongoing projects, including detailing steel as required.
  • Attend regular development meetings and work closely with Superintendents.
  • Address limitations of technologies and materials involved in the CAD process.
  • Incorporate feedback into detailed designs for complex projects.
  • Ability to analyze data and situations and come up with creative solutions.
  • Make revisions to models and drawings as requested.
  • Keep up to date on all modern advancement in material and software technologies.
  • Pursue ongoing education in the field.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 2 year degree or experience in related field; Bachelors or Certifications (preferred)
  • 2+ years of experience utilizing CAD software. CREO preferred.
  • Make decisions based on designs.
  • Strong communication skills. Ability to collaborate with others to solve problems.
  • Firm grasp of mathematics, engineering, and industry information.
  • Strong organizational skills and Excellent attention to detail.
  • Comfortable with sitting for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and Criminal background check.
