General Statement of Duties

The Forsyth County Department of Tax Administration has an opening for a Business Process Analyst. This position exists to ensure all deliverables such as the Property Tax billing and the listing files, which are produced for the public, are completed in a timely and accurate manner. This position will be expected to troubleshoot processes and errors. This position will partner and collaborate with a variety of software vendors, to ensure updates and tested system enhancements are implemented. This position also will collaborate with the various program areas within the department to understand their business needs, goals, processes and issues. The incumbent will be a key component in developing and maintaining best practices, efficiencies, and promoting innovation. They will manage, design, create and modify reports and queries. This position will take a lead role in creating and maintaining documentation for system processes and workflows. This position works closely with the Department IT Support Technician

A qualified candidate should posses the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
Tha ability to listen and quickly come to understand work processes and data flow.

The ability to speak clearly to communicate with user, upper management and third party vendors.

The ability to train users on any aspect of their IT systems that has changed or is being misused.

The ability to clearly document in writing conversations, ideas, workflow, data process issues
and other discoveries.

Must be a fast learner and self-starter with the ability to successfully multi-task.

Must be a team player and be able to work very well with end users who may understand their work processes but may not understand the underlying data as well.

The ability to query data directly when attempting to identify the source of data issues.

Must be able to follow complex computer process steps; as well as, understand, retrieve, transform, analyze and evaluate all types of property tax data and databases.

Ability to understand software logic, monitor processes for accuracy, and initiate complex analyses.

Minimum Education and Experience

Four year degree in Business, Management, Computer Science or related field and four years experience in systems analysis, project management, and/or computer system design and development.

NC Driver's License is required.

An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered for minimum qualification requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Partners and collaborates with the various program areas within the department to understand their business needs, goals, processes and issues

Acts as a subject matter expert of the various functional processes used within the department

Defines goals and recommends technology and/or processes for continuous improvement

May at times be required to manipulate data to ensure deliverables are done timely and correctly. Creates standard reports and queries to ensure data and system integrity.
