Summary

The BI Analyst is responsible for working with business leaders and BI consumers to identify reporting and analytical requirements, independently developing business requirement documents as well as technical/functional specifications and developing reports and dashboards to meet these requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Design, build, deliver and maintain world-class reporting for all areas of the business using Tableau
  • Translate business needs into high-level technical specifications and design
  • Develop deep understanding of the various business processes, data sets and BI deliverables
  • Prep, ingest, cleanse, and maintain data in the data warehouse for efficient delivery to Tableau
  • Prioritize, deliver, and maintain all Tableau reporting projects companywide
  • Assists in the daily support of end-users’ ability to effectively and efficiently utilize the reporting platform
  • Coordinates with the IT department to deploy software and hardware upgrades that make it possible to leverage big data use cases
  • Utilizes SQL, Tableau, SAS other data analytical tools
  • Seeks out ways to make constant and continuing improvement to current processes
  • Complies with all company policies and procedures
  • This position involves regular access to specified personal information of consumers, including, but not limited to, Social Security numbers and dates of birth.

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of BI and data warehouse concepts and terminology
  • Working knowledge and understanding of data integrity practices and procedures
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of business intelligence components
  • Data warehouse architectures corresponding techniques and tools
  • Relational database concepts such as querying, data warehousing, ETL processes, requirements gathering and/or decision support tools
  • Visualization applications

Education and/or Experience Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Finance, or other quantitative fields, plus three or four years of experience in credit risk management, statistical or data analytics, or MIS.
OR Master’s degree in above fields with one or two years of industry experience in credit risk management, statistical or data analytics, or MIS.

Must have experience in auto finance industry or experience with accounting/finance departments on financial reporting.

Language Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should have strong communication skills with the ability to break down and explain complex analytic issues, present findings, and make recommendations to various levels of management.

Mathematical Skills Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to derive conclusions and make recommendations beyond the scope of written policies or standard guidelines.

Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should have business environment experience with SQL, Tableau, SAS, and/or other business intelligence software/language.
Experience with statistical modeling a plus.
