What You’ll Do – Primary Purpose
The Inside Sales Representative (ISR) will prospect, call on and bring in new customers to the company. The ISR will understand the entire sales process, CRM, TMS and procedures with mastery of the Ascent Global value proposition. The ISR will use extensive data sources as leads to act on, and build, secure and expand relationships with assigned prospects. Primary focus will be on Brokerage truckload and LTL services.
Major Responsibilities

  • Utilize data provided and perform research on prospects to develop call objectives
  • Utilize outbound calls, emails, LinkedIn, and other ways to engage target prospects
  • Utilize a consultative sales approach while prospecting for leads to a build and maintain an active and full sales pipeline
  • Engage consistently with qualified leads to produce sales, attaining monthly goals for revenue and new business achievement
  • Deliver quotes, negotiate terms, and convert quotes to shipments
  • Adhere to daily targets and overall metrics, with an expected high volume of daily sales activity with phone and email
  • Maintain all information and records regarding sales activities in the CRM
  • Build trusting relationships with clients
  • Convert transactional clients to consistent shippers or contractual

What You’ll Bring – Experience, Skills, and Education Required

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Negotiation skills, listening skills, problem solving skills
  • Coachable, persistent, high emotional intelligence
  • College degree in business or equivalent experience required
  • 2 years of customer facing experience preferred
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Windows, Word, Outlook and Excel preferred.
  • Basic geography knowledge preferred. Applicants should understand the locations of US States and Canadian Provinces – including major cities thereof.
  • Detailed organizational skills
