Reports to: Inside Sales Manager
A.Basic Function
Working under general direction, performs work independently and on teams, responsible for compiling job costs and creating formal project estimates. Estimator will work with an assigned Project Manager to provide and manage status of all quotations within a given territory. In addition, they will work with the Outside Sales Representatives and/or customer to be their second point of contact for all business relating to Peerless Products, Inc
B.Job Duties
- Manage inbound and outbound quote activity.
- Analyzes plans, construction contract specifications and codes to determine project requirements.
- Determine when inside or outside vendor pricing and/or documentation is required for quotation and obtain this from appropriate department. This may include but is not limited to: Purchased parts, engineering calculations, engineering tool & die costs, and archtop costs.
- Provide customer with submittal information required to satisfy contract job specifications.
- Manage and maintain quotation and forecasted job status for assigned sales territory.
- Perform pricing updates as requested by Outside Sales Representatives and/or customer or as required for project acceptance.
- May be responsible for acting as a team/project leader and training other staff in applicable areas of demonstrated expertise.
- Other duties may include supporting other departments as needed or as business needs determine necessary.
C.Skills and Qualifications
- Duties require knowledge of, and the ability to use well, the fundamental concepts and practices of sales.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalency
- Experience: 1-3 years work experience.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Internet Explorer and Microsoft Outlook.
- Must be willing and able to become proficient in the use of proprietary software package used for estimating and project management.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment required.
- Must have the ability to develop technical skills required to perform the job.
- Must have experience with direct customer sales, service or data entry.
- Must have the ability to work independently.
- Must have a working knowledge of the construction industry.
- Must have the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Must have the aptitude for detail-oriented work.
