This position is a non-technical position at PST, a wholly owned subsidiary of Union Pacific Railroad. PST has provided innovative software-based business solutions helping companies in the transportation, construction, mining, infrastructure, and energy industries better lead people and assets. Our crew management and timekeeping solutions have been used to run the day-to-day operations of over 100,000 employees, that lead, maintain, and support rail operations across more than 120,000 miles of rail. Those solutions provide highly configurable crew dispatching and time-keeping functions, automate contract rules, manage FRA compliance, and increase transparency within the rail system. The successful candidate will support various application development and software implementation projects associated with CrewPro, PST's railroad crew management system, and a growing portfolio of associated applications. PST customers span the rail industry including Class I and short-line railroads. PST is proud to support a hybrid work environment coupling an in-office experience with opportunities for remote work as projects allow up to 50%. This position will be filled in Colorado or Nebraska.

Systems Consultant) and $103,125-$137,500 (Systems Consultant). The final salary of the selected candidate for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, experience, education, specialty and training.

You will play a non-technical role throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). You will be responsible for meeting with customers, gathering and detailing business requirements and acceptance criteria, preparing functional design packets for the technical team, participating in functional testing, and implementation support. There will be a heavy collaboration with customers. Part of your work will be to analyze differences between the customer’s business processes and the standard processes of our CrewPro and related products. You will be demonstrating software to customers and documenting requirements. Working with the customer you will define and detail “to-be” business processes within the constraints of PST’s products and acceptable customization and configuration. You will collaborate with project managers, architects, developers, business analysts, quality assurance staff, customers, and others to deliver well-documented, high quality, fully integrated replacements for our legacy crew management solutions. Travel to customer locations is expected and will typically be 10% but may surge to 25-50% at certain points in the projects. The ideal candidate for this position will possess both excellent business analyst skills and knowledge of crew management practices in the rail industry. Applicants may be considered who possess one or the other as well as the ability to learn the other.

Qualifications

Required
  • A Bachelor's degree or commensurate experience in this field
  • Strong documentation and analytical skills
  • Strong leadership and problem solving skills
  • Must have the following: at least one OR the ability to learn the others – 1) Excellent business analyst skills and experience, 2) Rail-crew management domain expertise, or 3) Rail industry expertise
  • Strong (written, verbal, email, and presentation) communication skills
  • Exhibit the following: detail-oriented and excellent follow-up skills
  • Able to build inclusive working relationships - internally, externally, locally, and remotely
  • Able to work well with and lead others as part of a geographically diverse development team
  • Able to take initiative and to start work with limited guidance
  • Able to complete objectives on time
  • 5 years or more of work experience in business analytics
  • Knowledge of Agile practices and ceremonies
