Paramedic Ground Ambulance ( Delta Units)

PART-TIME Opportunity

Located at Burning Man in Black Rock City, Nevada

We're hiring Paramedics whose mission and purpose are to compassionately deliver high-quality service and patient care in a professional, discreet, and caring manner at major events in fixed and temporary event spaces. Our Paramedics assigned to the Ground Ambulance Division will support the Black Rock City emergency services division in protecting life safety for 70,000 attendees and staff. Black Rock operates a fully functioning 911 system dispatching ALS ambulances across the 10 square mile response area. In addition to 911 responses Black Rock City Paramedics will support the Rampart clinical team by providing routine and critical ground transport to local hospitals for definitive care. Applicants interested in this position must be patient care focused providers looking to work in a high volume 911 system with previous experience. All providers must work a minimum of four (4) shifts for Burning Man 2023.

Event Dates

Burning Man is always held the week prior to and including Labor Day weekend. Our clinic(s) will be operational from Tuesday, August 22nd through Tuesday, September 6 th , 2023. While you are not required to be present for the duration of the event, all providers must work a minimum of four (4) shifts for Burning Man 2023.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensuring that event activities are aligned with CrowdRx goals and strategic plan.
  • Delivering on-site ALS and BLS level care in accordance with all applicable medical guidelines and protocols.
  • Calmly and professionally responding to calls for emergency medical assistance and public safety issues within assigned venue or event area.
  • Coordinating and arranging emergent and non-emergent transport for patients to higher level of care.
  • Communicating effectively with venue or event staff and other local officials to provide critical information.
  • Utilizing medical equipment and procedures as required to provide appropriate and high-quality patient care.
  • Properly generating and submitting all required response and patient care documentation.
  • Properly maintain ing all issued uniforms and response gear and utiliz ing all personal protective equipment.
  • Keeping current on all required state certifications / licenses.
  • Monitoring and maintaining the condition of first aid offices and medical gear, ensuring that all supplies and equipment are in-date and in proper working order.
  • Following all policies and procedures and ensuring compliance with all established report times.
  • Maintaining prompt and regular attendance.
  • Communicating public health / safety issues to venue staff and internal management.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.


MinimumRequired Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Background check.
  • Drug screen.
  • Nevada Paramedic certification. If you are not currently certified in NV, we can assist. You will need the following:
        • NREMT-Paramedic
        • State Certification
        • State Driver's License
        • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (AHA, ASHI, Red Cross, Military Network accepted)
        • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (AHA, ASHI, Red Cross, Military Network accepted)
        • BLS for Health Care Provider (AHA, ASHI, Red Cross, Military Network accepted)
        • Trauma certification - ITLS or PHTLS accepted
        • TCCC, TPATC or TNCC not accepted in lieu of ITLS or PHTLS
        • EVOC or CEVO
        • Completion of Special Needs Considerations class on SF (will be assigned with other classes)
  • State of Nevada Ambulance Attendant Certification
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS/CPR) certification
  • Applicable State certification(s).
  • 3+ years' experience as an EMS provider.
  • 911 Experience preferred.
  • Effective customer service skills.
  • A working understanding of special event operations and customer service.
  • Demonstrated skill in the successful completion of multiple, simultaneous, and rapidly emergent tasks.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new technologies and procedures.
  • Ability to write reports and document emergency response activities
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with venue partners and event.
  • Effective critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
