Maintain physical properties in working order. This includes all types of repairs from floor to ceiling. It may include demolition, finish, painting, plumbing repairs, gardening and any type of clean up required, and basic knowledge of both electric and HVACs’ either inside or outside any of the El Dorado Furniture building properties. Building maintenance workers handle repairs that require basic skills such as an electrician, carpenter, plumber, mechanic, painter, HVAC technician and roofer. However, building maintenance workers must always remain aware of their limitations and request the services of a licensed professional when the worker’s lack of expertise or local ordinances require it.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Facilities upkeep to look their best, maintain a safe environment.
• Conduct regular inspections to determine areas that need attention and then perform the tasks.
• Replace worn doorknobs, oiling a squeaky hinge or replacing a damaged floorboard, among other repairs.
• Inspect for burned-out light bulbs and replace them, change the filters in the air conditioning system or replace a hard-to-operate lock.
• Might have a set schedule of routine maintenance procedures to perform on machinery and equipment, such as greasing the bearings or changing the hydraulic fluid.
• General repair and upkeep of buildings and facades. This is to include grounds restrooms and sewer lines and water lines. If at any time work load is insufficient, we may use the employee in another capacity for example warehouse worker.
• Basic Electrical and HVAC knowledge required.

Qualifications

• Possess knowledge in general handyman maintenance type of work.
• Be available at night or weekends in case of emergencies and or special assignments.
• Observe all safety precautionary rules while on duty.
• Bilingual Preferred (English & Spanish).
• Ability to carry out measurements accurately.
• Basic mathematical knowledge.

Education and/or Experience

• Previous and relevant work experience, minimum of 5 years involvement in related maintenance work.

Physical Demands

• Able to lift push or pull a minimum of 75 lbs.
• Must be able to work in high areas.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

• Steel toe shoes.
• Back Support Belt.
• Safety Gloves.
• Safety Glasses.
• Other protective equipment as required

Work Environment

• Ranges from inside work under A/C to working outside exposed to the weather.
