Summary Objective

This advanced, technical field work aims to enforce the City's construction codes, related regulations, and policies. An employee in a position allocated to this class inspects various building sites of moderately or more complex projects and enforces adherence to codes in one or more of the following categories: building, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical. Work also includes analysis of permit applications and plans for code conformance and assisting in the training of Building Codes Inspector I.


Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires a High School diploma or GED equivalent supplemented by specialized coursed/training equivalent to completion of one year of college.

Requires five years of supervisory experience in construction work as an architect, engineer, inspector, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

This position requires the successful passing of a background check and drug screening. All applicants must upload an educational diploma/degree and a valid State of Florida Driver's License to the document section of the online application.

Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver's license.
