OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION
This position is located in Paducah, KY servicing apartments at Jackson House Apartments & WB Sanders Retirement Center. The Building Engineer Technician (BET) is responsible for the receipt, distribution, follow-up, and control of maintenance requests.
Preventive maintenance schedules and adherence to them is the responsibility of the BET. This individual will oversee the make ready process of an apartment and work with the maintenance supervisor and community manager(s) to ensure that units are ready for immediate occupancy.

Salary: $17.69/hour starting salary with scheduled raises. Health & Welfare Benefits after a 60-day probationary period. 403(b) account after one year of service. Member of the UFCW227 Local Union.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION
Preventive Maintenance

• -This applies to mechanical systems in each building. Keeping up-to-date records, including that of supply inventory, is crucial.

Make Ready Apartments

• -Making apartments ready for new residents is always a priority. The BET will complete an initial walk through of each vacant unit with a member of the office staff, assessing the need for supplies and work timeframes. He or she will perform all necessary maintenance work including drywall repair, painting, shampooing carpets, cleaning, etc.

Service Requests

• -The timely completion of service requests in residents? homes is a top priority of the BET. This includes service requests generated from extermination services and bi-annual reviews.

Housekeeping and Grounds
- The property should always look well kept and inviting. The BET will assist with housekeeping responsibilities as needed, including the upkeep of grounds and public restrooms.
Miscellaneous Items
- Miscellaneous duties will be assigned as needed, including things like gathering bids and meeting with outside contractors, assisting with resident social functions, forecasting maintenance costs for annual budget preparation, etc.

Pay: $17.69 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• On call
