Job Description/Responsibilities

All employees of The Bardstown Bourbon Company must have the following characteristics:

  • Comfortable interacting daily with Bardstown Bourbon Company customers as well as tour groups and guests in a hospitality focused environment

This position requires the following:
  • Direct work group or department to assure on-time production and/or delivery
  • Train employees on all bottling equipment to produce at standard-and-above efficiency
  • Maintain quality standards
  • Coach, mentor, and motivate employees while maintaining high employee morale and positive relationships
  • Teach safe work practices, good housekeeping procedures, and seeing they are adhered to
  • Uphold machines and/or equipment in good repair
  • Recommend changes or improvement in methods, equipment, handling, or lay-out
  • Responsible for accuracy of required reports and record-keeping
  • Control absenteeism, scrap, and waste
  • Monitors and enforces all Company, EPA, and Safety regulations and policies.
  • Determine between machine or material issue and create an action plan to address the issue.
  • The ability to work with the maintenance and quality departments to resolve issues.
  • Well versed in bottling machinery operations
  • Responsible for tracking KPIs such as Run-time Efficiency, Change-over times, etc.
  • Communicate appropriate quality information between lab and other personnel as required.
  • React to production schedule changes in an organized fashion.
  • Manage label room activities. Inventory removed and inventory restored after production.
  • Ensure production forms are appropriately filled out while on the production line.
  • Ensure bottling and shipper codes are accurate at production start-up.
  • Ensure components placed on the production lines match the work order bill of material.
  • Commitment for the Company’s ISO program including the quality and food safety of our products.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications/Requirements

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a minimum of two years of relevant experience
  • Have an Associate’s Degree, or equivalent training and experience?
  • Have experience in team-based manufacturing environment
  • Have good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Have strong math, analytical & counting skills
  • Have strong computer skills
  • Have skills to assist in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting

Physical requirements

The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met
by an employee to successfully perform the essential function of this job:
  • Must be able to stand; use hands to fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; walk; sit; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and occasionally required to climb or balance.
  • Must be able to work in high temperature environment.
  • Must be able to lift to 50 pounds on a regular basis from floor to shoulder
  • Must be able to physically navigate around a plant/production environment, including the repetitive climbing of stairs and elevated walkways.
