General Scope of Duties:

Operates and tends all boiler room equipment. Maintains proper steam pressure and output at all times. Makes decisions to ensure maximum efficient equipment operation.

Job Functions:

• Operates and controls steam generators, induced draft fans, forced draft fans, hotwell pumps, and feedwater heater and water softener equipment.
• Controls water treatment and feeds various chemicals as required.
• Changes boiler charts.
• Checks and adjusts freshwater cistern.
• Takes boilers on and off the line.
• Tests all boiler valves and checks alarms on feedwater heater, hotwell, and hotwell pump.
• Keeps log of operations, including steam generated and chemical treatment fed.
• May be required to assist with major boiler maintenance.

Job Requirements:

• Must be able to work SWING SHIFT
• Third Class Engineer license issued by the State of Ohio required
• High school diploma or equivalent
