Big Woods is a local, homebrewed company that started in a Nashville, Indiana alley as a single bar and brewery. We have expanded to multiple restaurant locations and added our Quaff ON! brewery and Hard Truth distillery. Big Woods is dedicated to serving Indiana with the finest local brews, cocktails and midwestern comfort food.

Big Woods Restaurants is looking to hire a Kitchen Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Create a “People First” culture in your store location.
  • Assist in developing a culture of world class customer service.
  • Lead with a people- focused mentality. Regularly coach, provide feedback, establish goals, celebrate achievements, while creating a culture of training and accountability.
  • Utilize and implement professional development plans to further our restaurant team’s career progress and potential advancement.
  • Partner with your Manager on strategic planning and retention. Set goals for staffing for various volumes, seasons, and growth.
  • Partner with the training team to assess, develop, and implement training processes.
  • Partner with Human Resources on retention, competitive compensation, and any administrative processes.
  • Assist in training and completing Standard Operating Procedures. Partner with human resources, accounting, and all above store teams. Assure that there is a world class operation: money handling, menu implementation, sanitation, inventory, etc.
  • Assist in driving sales at your location’s store. Partner with your General Manager, events team, and marketing on strategic plans to increase sales. Assure the execution and implementation of these plans.
  • Coordinate the headquarters team on new menu roll outs, sales, merchandise, etc. Assist in creating a culture of sales-minded excitement. Assure the team is aligned to changes, details are communicated, and a presentation to the staff is implemented.
  • Other duties when required.

Qualifications:


  • Must be able to create a "People First" Culture. Ability to work with staff to create a culture of teamwork, development, and training.
  • Experience in working in the restaurant/beverage industry is preferred.
  • Ability to develop an understanding of inventory, labor, and other factors that impact profit and sales.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to flex weekly schedule around companies needs and deadlines.
  • Physically assist staff in location when needed: high volume events/seasons and creating a team environment that is guest focused.
  • Ability to coordinate with your teams and departments on increased sales and profitability of location. Develop a plan and assure it is implemented.
  • Must have or be able to obtain an Alcohol Serving permit through the state of Indiana.
  • ServSafe certification preferred.
