Overview:
The BHC is a licensed clinical psychologist or LMHC or LCSW who adheres to the highest standards of evidencebased medical practice, ethics, and professionalism at all times. The BHC provides direct behavioral health integration to children, adolescents, adults and families in order to improve psychosocial function in a primary care setting.


About the C. L. Brumback Primary Care Clinics

Our 10 Federally Qualified Health Centers across the county serve adults and children with or without insurance and regardless of ability to pay. We also operate three mobile clinics that provide medical services for the homeless and the underserved. In 2022, we served 39,000 unique adult and pediatric patients who received high-quality comprehensive health services including medical, dental, behavioral health, psychiatric care, women’s health, pharmacy services, outpatient substance use disorder treatment, and community resource programs.

Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:

  • Provide comprehensive assessment and diagnosis of behavioral health clients.
  • Provide effective treatment planning and assisting clients in successfully achieving goals.
  • Evaluate crisis situations and apply appropriate interventions.
  • Actively participate in meetings that support C.L. Brumback/Health Care District integrated health care model to provide comprehensive care for clients.
  • Assist in the detection of “at risk” patients and development of plans to prevent further psychological or physical deterioration.
  • Assist the primary care team in developing care management processes such as the use of guidelines, disease management techniques, case management, and patient education to improve self-management of medical and psychiatric chronic disease.
  • Provide assessment, diagnosis according to DSM-V consultation, and brief intervention for psychological/psychiatric problems and/or disorders.
  • Teach patients, families, and staff care, prevention, and treatment enhancement techniques.
  • Monitor the site’s behavioral health program, identifying problems related to patient services and making recommendations for improvement while complying with all accrediting bodies applicable (DCF, state, federal regulations as well as standard of care).
  • Other duties as assigned.

Clinic hours are from Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, and with rotation on Saturdays as assigned or as needed.

Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree or doctorate in Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or related field required.
  • Three (3) years’ professional mental health experience in a health care setting required.
  • Current ACLS or BLS certification required.
  • Current and valid State of Florida License in Mental Health Counseling or Licensed Clinical Social Worker license required or Licensed clinical psychologist.
  • Valid Florida Driver’s license required
