Position Overview:
A Lexus certified automotive technician is an expert in auto repair work. Job duties include inspecting repair equipment, overseeing and signing off on repairs completed by other mechanics, and training new technicians. A qualified Lexus Technician will have experience in using technology and tools to perform auto service as quickly and effectively as possible. Career qualifications for a master automotive technician include certification from the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE).
Who You Are:

• You consistently meet or exceed productivity and service standards
• You have the keen ability to diagnose and identify required repairs in an efficient and timely manner
• You are detailed and efficient with 2 + years of technician experience and strong knowledge in all aspects of automotive repair and maintenance, along with diagnosing and repairing automotive systems, including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
• You continuously learn new technical information and techniques through formal training sessions to stay up-to-date with rapidly changing technology
• You are a reliable individual with a proven work ethic
• You are a team player who is process-oriented
• You are passionate about taking care of the customer, and you communicate well with service team members to ensure customers are receiving accurate service promptly

Essential Functions:

• Perform specific work on maintenance and repair orders with efficiency and following dealership standards.
• Provide labor and time estimates for additional automotive repairs.
• Explain mechanical diagnoses and required repairs in a non-technical manner to service advisors and customers.
• Continuously learn new technical information and techniques through formal training sessions to stay up-to-date with rapidly changing technology.
• Inspect and test vehicles and record findings so that necessary repairs can be made.
• Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
• Diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing automotive vehicle systems, including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
• Communicate directly and effectively with the Service Advisor to ensure customers are informed of any additional service needed. They are also providing an estimate of the time required for other repairs.
• Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.

Requirements:

• Valid Maine Vehicle Inspection license
• Certification from the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE)
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Possess a valid driver's license and favorable motor vehicle record
• Able to pass a pre-employment background check
• Authorized to work in the United States
