Dubak Electrical Group is adding the position of Automation Project Manager which involves specialized work in managing Automation and Controls related projects. The projects will vary in size and will be industrial in nature. This position assists in creating/finding new bidding opportunities, initiates job estimates from start to finish, plans the awarded work, executes the awarded project, monitors and controls the project, and finally closes the project out.

The Automation Project Manager is the single point of accountability for the delivery of projects, including design (where applicable), scope, cost, and schedule. Additionally, this individual will be responsible for providing overall direction of projects involving Automation & Controls. Project sizes will typically range from $1,000 to $10.0M.

Strong predictors of success for an Automation Project Manager would be to estimate project costs confidently and accurately within the bid cycle time, have direct and confident interaction with field personnel, excellent personal skills with the client and fellow employees all while working within the team environment.

Job Description:

  • Working knowledge of industrial controls, design, finance, and project management.
  • Technical writing skills are required specifically noting controls proposal documents, scope of work documents, and client presentation packages
  • Oral and written communication skills; good computer skills including MS Project, Word, and Excel.
  • Experience in Job Costing and Tracking.
  • Detailed knowledge base of industrial controls estimating methods in areas including Electrical Schematic Design, Panel Fabrication, PLC Programming, and HMI Programming.
  • Coordinate and manage automation projects – includes reporting and accountability of schedule, budget, project performance, and quality.
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope, and within budget
  • Oversee and participate in project planning, estimating, scheduling, staffing, procurement, and execution of various projects
  • Maintain and manage client relationship and expectations
  • Manage and communicate project changes that may impact either budget or schedule
  • Ability to manage several projects through the full project life cycle process
  • Provide ongoing customer insight and historical perspectives to support current project proposals
  • Assist in preparation and development of project proposals and strategy
  • Participate in proposal review meetings, site visits, and estimating efforts, as required in the development of a proposal
  • Required Travel: Up to 30%

Qualifications/Skills:

  • 4-year college degree in Engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5 years in Automation or a related field is required
