Sunlight-Tech, Inc., an engineering automation design company in Mokena, IL is looking to hire a full-time Controls Engineer. Standard hours would be Mon-Fri, but you may be asked to work some weekends. Hours may fluctuate based on the needs of the company. This is an hourly paid full-time position.
Job Description
- Understands advanced software and machine control principals.
- PLC Programing (Allen Bradley preferred) or Automation Direct, Siemen’s is a plus.
- AB or Automation Direct HMI Programming.
- Design/debug electrical and software interfaces of machine tools and robot/automated loaders.
- Electrical and software design of machine/automation safety circuits (E-stops, safety guarding, etc.)
- Commissioning and tuning of frequency & servo drives including servo/AC motors.
- Can design and implement industrial communication and I/O networks.
- The ability to work closely with other controls engineers/technicians to ensure functional interfaces and installations.
- Robot Programming – Fanuc controls and Wittmann robots is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
- Strong understanding of principles and techniques used in programming.
- Assertive self-starter with a high level of intrinsic motivation and an independent work style who is also able to collaborate well with team members across various functions to achieve common goals.
Education & Experience
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Must have at least of 3-5 years of working experience in an automation engineering position, working with AB or Automation Direct PLC’s.
- Experience with Fanuc robots is plus.
