Audit Manager Job Description:

At Purvis Gray our audit team provides services that go beyond the compliance function. We service a variety of industries that focuses on more strategic planning including analysis, plan development, recommendations, and presentations. This team brings credibility to our client’s financial picture, communicates information objectively and clearly, and provides insight to help clients improve their businesses. As an Audit Manager, you will help lead teams to deliver quality audits implementing this approach to our clients, learning, and understanding their business, the risks they face and their internal controls.

Audit Managers must possess technical proficiency and the ability to supervise and complete engagements. The Audit Manager is responsible for developing suggestions to improve client internal controls and accounting procedures as well as advising the client on various economic and regulatory risks in a specific industry field of expertise by identifying financial and non-financial performance measures, formulating, and communicating the audit plan, answering complex questions involving US GAAP and GAAS and composing technical consultation memos on engagements related to US GAAP / GAAS issues. Audit Managers must maintain a thorough knowledge of the firm’s policies and procedures and serve as intermediaries between partners, clients, and other auditors within the firm.

The Audit Manager is the liaison between the partner, director, the client, and the professional staff. Managers are responsible for managing audit projects and client engagements simultaneously, and scheduling, staffing, and coordinating engagement workflow. Managers establish relationships with clients and are often the primary client contact/representation of the Firm.

Audit Manager Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Florida CPA Required
  • Must maintain required CPE credits annually
  • In addition to Supervisor-level abilities:

o Ability to function with a high degree of autonomy

o Ability to maintain client confidence in the Firm and maintain client relationships

o Ability to identify and appropriately address most technical issues

o Ability to develop and retain clients

o Contribute to the success of the Firm through your individual strengths, interests, and abilities

Audit Manager Education/Experience:

  • At least 5 years of public accounting experience
  • Typically, 3 or more years of experience as a Senior Auditor and/or Supervisor
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting Required

Work Environment:

Work will be performed in the Firm’s office or on client’s premises as needed. Work on the client’s premises may require the use of the staff member’s personal car. Some overnight travel may be required. Overtime is expected throughout the year particularly during busy seasons. Overtime will be dictated by client needs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $95,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
