Position: Associate Organic Chemist
Location: Rahway, NJ
Duration: 6 Months
Responsibilities:
- The Process Research and Development department of Client Research Laboratories has a research chemist position available in the Rahway, New Jersey research facility.
- It is a laboratory-based role to support process development.
- Client is seeking a candidate with experience in organic chemistry, organic synthesis, methodology/catalysis (including chemocatalysis, biocatalysis and heterogeneous catalysis), total synthesis, physical organic chemistry, or flow chemistry, along with a proven track record of solving problems.
Qualifications:
- A PhD in Chemistry with 0-1year experience or an MS degree in chemistry with a minimum of 5 years of experience in organic synthesis including synthetic methodology, catalysis, and / or total synthesis along with a proven track record of solving problems.
- Software: Ability to use Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Must have:Synthetic organic chemistry experience.
- Nice to have: Experience in industry pharma/Agro-chemical.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Significant experience in synthesis, purification and analytical characterization including HPLC, MS, and NMR
- Experience in DOE design and process characterization
Personality:
- Strong attention to detail, particularly when documenting experiments
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Willing to work in a collaborative manner as a part of a team
- Solid critical thinking skills
- NOTE: Onsite role at Rahway,NJ for 6 months with possibility of extension.
