POSITION PURPOSE

The Associate Operational Reporting & Data Analyst will contribute to the organization by gathering data, preparing reports, and introducing process improvements through the reporting process. Responsibilities include entering data into existing databases, performing low complexity modifications on the databases, and running standard reports.

NATURE AND SCOPE

  • This role does not manage people
  • This job reports to: Departmental Leadership
  • Necessary Contacts: The departmental leadership, and other divisions within BCBSLA.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Management Systems, Computer Science, and Business Administration or related degree required
  • Four years of related experience can be used in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.

Work Experience

  • 1 year of experience providing operational reporting required

Skills and Abilities

  • Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Power BI, and Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) is preferred.
  • Must demonstrate PC skills including Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and related software as other corporate software programs and applications.
  • Must demonstrate verbal and communication skills with the ability to interpret and communicate information with tact, diplomacy, patience and professionalism.
  • Able to cohesively work in a team environment to ensure efficient and effective completion of all tasks assigned groups.

ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provides reporting ad hoc for business operations.
  • Monitor and send recurring reports for business area and conducts basic level testing.
  • Follow best practices for gathering data in order to ensure an accurate and repeatable process.
  • Performs modifications on existing reports based on changing business requirements.
  • Collects data to be later analyzed.
  • Monitor reporting environments for performance issues and collaborates with higher level for troubleshooting.
  • Review the existing reports and validate the need for existing and new reports.
