The Associate Director Foundational Customer Research will apply best-in-class customer research methodologies and deliver deep insights that shapes portfolio and brand strategies.

This role will also provide thought leadership and lead innovation projects that step-change the level of insights provided to the GPS&C.

Major responsibilities
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Design and execute high-quality market research strategies and methodologies as part of the Integrated Insights Plan
  • Lead, develop and step-change market research to develop deeper and more integrated customer and market insights
  • Leverage modern, non-traditional market research strategies, tools, and methodologies to gain customer and market insights, i.e., BeSci, JTBD, social media listening, digital panels, patient level analytics, and others
  • Play a key role in market research generation and interpretation for priority BD&L & M&A opportunities
  • Lead market research innovation project(s) to enhance value of output, speed and/or process efficiencies & cost savings
  • Partner with TA, MAP, and priority markets to build truly customer centric solutions

For US based candidates:
The ideal location for this role is East Hanover, NJ but remote work may be possible (there may be some restrictions based on legal entity). Please note that this role would not provide relocation as a result. If associate is remote, all home office expenses and any travel/lodging to specific East Hanover, NJ for periodic live meetings will be at the employee’s expense. The expectation of working hours and travel (domestic and/or international) will be defined by the hiring manager. This position will require 20% travel.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $166,400 and $249,600 per year; however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/23 through 12/31/23, fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period. Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Minimum requirements

What you'll bring to the role:
  • Strong Primary Market Research capabilities
  • Expertise in Behavioral Science and/or in Design Thinking
  • Deep understanding of methodologies needed to execute on qualitative MR studies
  • Extensive experience with demonstrated functional expertise and leadership in innovative research
  • Experience working cross-functionally and cross-geography and exposure to senior business leadership
  • Significant account management experience at executive-level, and business case management experience

Preferred
  • US pharma landscape understanding (either having worked in the US or being in a role where success of the US organization is the dominant element of achieving the goals set for this role)
  • Significant above-country experience (Global / Regional) or multi-country experience
