The Associate Director, Communications enhances Nationwide Children’s Foundation communications. The Associate Director will focus on identification of private sector grant funding prospects and the development and preparation of grant submission packets including narratives and required attachments.

Responsibilities:
  • Creates content for NCH and On Our Sleeves, includes newsletters, stewardship reports, strategic communications, talking points, presentations, and social media.
  • Edits mailing content, ensures refinement and adherence to brand and team standards. Collaborates with others to ensure materials meet voice, style, and guidelines. Ensures that interim milestones of preparation and production are met so proposals stay on schedule and on budget.
  • Works in conjunction with Foundation Grants Program, targeting the identification of private sector grant funding prospects and the development, preparation, and submission of grants.
  • Acts as Liaison between the Foundation, NCH Marketing and Creative Services.
Qualifications:
Education Requirement: Bachelor’s Degree, required.

Skills:
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills as well as problem solving, planning and organizational skills. Must be comfortable with people of all ages and backgrounds.
  • Initiative driven and committed to on-going education and personal development.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, be a team player and display diplomacy.
  • Ability to be entrusted with confidential information and make ethical decisions.

Experience:
  • Five years of communications experience, required.
  • Five years of grant or proposal writing experience, preferred.
  • Five years of fundraising experience, preferred.
  • Experience with Raiser’s Edge and Microsoft Office, preferred.
