Job Description:

This is technical engineering support work of a difficult nature working on the MaineDOT geotechnical drill rig which gathers preliminary soils and ledge information for use in highway and bridge design. Typical duties include: assisting the driller with various support tasks, retrieving and handling rock and soil samples, maintaining equipment in good working order, assisting with traffic control, and working cooperatively within a several-person crew. This position requires routine overnight statewide travel and repeated heavy lifting. Within six months of hire, the selected candidate must obtain a Maine CDL Class A driver's license and an OSHA 40-hour Hazwoper Certification.

To be minimally qualified for this position candidates must provide evidence of the following experience:

Three (3) years of experience in engineering or a related technical field–OR- an Associate Degree in Engineering or a related technical field and one (1) year of experience in engineering.
