Seals Swim Team - Assistant Coach

Reports to: Swim Team Head Coach
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Under the direction of the head coach, The Swim Team Assistant Coach maintains a supportive, positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals and provides direct leadership, instruction, motivation, safety, and enjoyment for swim team participants.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for creating and maintaining a clean, safe and positive environment for the swim team participants.
- Assist head coach in creating thorough, age-appropriate workouts focusing on technique, endurance, stroke development, drills, etc.;
- Help to record all workouts and track daily attendance;
- Assist head coach with administrative matters relating to the team, swim meet arrangements and team performance as well as interaction with parents;
- Assist in coordinating and executing swim team competitions and meet registrations and recording times and collecting other relevant data at swim meets;
- Attend swim team events such as meets, meetings, social events, etc. at the direction of the head coach.
- Engage parents and cultivate relationships to create a collaborative swim team environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- We are looking for applicants who have at least 1 or more years of coaching experience and/or proven track record in coaching/teaching different levels of a swim team program.
- In addition, applicants must have a current professional CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications. Current WSI certifications are desired.
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Ability to work nights/weekends
Job Types: Part-time, Temporary
Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
