The Department of Dermatology at the University of Utah Spencer Fox Eccles School of Medicine is seeking a qualified allergy/immunology physician at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor. Appointment track will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Applicant must be board-eligible or board-certified in either Internal Medicine or Pediatrics and in Allergy/Immunology. The ideal candidate will have trained at a leading Allergy/Immunology program and have a track record of providing outstanding clinical care and participating in scholarly activities. Comfort seeing both children and adults is preferred.
The allergy/immunology program offers full-service outpatient care, including spirometry, skin testing, sinus endoscopy, immunotherapy and drug desensitization. Our clinic is the only known academic center in the nation to offer oral immunotherapy for food allergy outside of the research setting. We are involved in clinical trials and NIH funded research, including programs for asthmatic children on the Navajo Nation and development of novel methods of detection for eosinophilic esophagitis. Two to three medical assistants per MD allows for excellent clinical productivity and team-based care. Supportive, well-developed departmental infrastructure enables great opportunity for innovation, patient-centered service, research, and growth.
Candidate will join an academic allergy/immunology practice of 6 established allergist/immunologists within the Department of Dermatology. The University of Utah Department of Dermatology is one of the largest in the country, with over 57 faculty, 11 residents, 1 fellow, and 10 advanced practitioners. The Department’s allergy/immunology services are conducted at 4 of the department’s 12 sites including Primary Children’s Hospital. Opportunity exists for current applicant to provide clinical care at newly built Primary Children’s Hospital in Lehi, evening clinics in the Sugarhouse location, and potential for opportunity at the South Jordan Daybreak location.
The University is just 10 minutes from downtown Salt Lake City and adjacent to the foothills of the Wasatch Mountains which provide abundant opportunities for outdoor recreation. Most commutes to the University are under 30 minutes and several neighborhoods are as close as five minutes away. Utah is known for majestic national parks and boundless mountain and desert activities. There are nine ski resorts within one hour’s drive from Salt Lake City.
