Assistant Principal, Framingham Campus Implement curricula according to MA State Curriculum Frameworks and Common Core Standards in a Chapter 766 approved school for students in grades 6-12.

Responsible for providing challenging, motivating and relevant learning experiences in a 220 day setting. Teach classes by using various methods and materials to suit topic, IEP and/or learning style. Employ differentiated instructional strategies to meet the needs of all students, including integrating technology into lesson planning. Provide a learning environment which is physically safe and intellectually open and in keeping with special education best practices.

Model the school’s academic and social expectations. Attend department meetings and relevant school and professional events/meetings as necessary. Maintain first aid, CPR and TCI certification through provided trainings. Responsible for keeping in compliance with program and agency policies, standards and protocols.

Minimum Requirements Minimum Education: Master’s Degree in education required Minimum Work Experience: At least 2+ years management experience in related field (Education/Residential/etc.) Licensure: Moderate Disabilities 5-12 held; possesses or pursuing Special Education Administrators Licensure (or holds equivalent) Certification: MAP, TCI, CPR, First Aid training upon hire Perform Supervisory Duties: Yes Job Description/Tasks Management: Complete individual supervisions. Responsible for oversight of day to day programming. Participate in Campus wide meetings such managers meetings high risk meetings, etc. Provide oversight of Interim Assessment Program and coordinate/generate associated FBA report.

Group Facilitation: Facilitation of IEP meetings, staff meeting. Customer Service/ Client Interaction: Maintain constant contact with guardians, school districts, and collaterals. Compliance: Ensure that documentation concerning attendance, incidents, and assessments are completed. Oversight of DESE requirements.

Care Coordination: Responsible for case management for students. Milieu Work: Responsible to provide coverage when program is not in ratio. Competencies/Traits Demonstrates ability to work independently (i.e. can self-direct on projects, can propose project solutions in regards to their curriculum area and lesson planning).

Shows flexibility and creative thinking (i.e. ability to adapt and adjust to changing work situations, recognize and respond quickly when lesson/activity does not go as planned). Dependability and persistence (i.e. excellent follow through on assigned tasks).

Ability to teach, mentor, and coach others (i.e. able to provide constructive feedback to employees on shift, provide thoughtful and consistent supervision). Knowledge of all licensing regulations and Agency policies. Demonstrates good judgement in Administrator On Call role.

High quality writing skills as evidenced by a writing sample. Ability to work with others (i.e. strong teamwork, can collaborate and coordinate care with other staff). Demonstrates the ability to professionally develop others (i.e.

direct reports have been promoted within the agency, have leadership roles, and can guide staff to achieve optimal results etc.). Shows leadership skills in meetings (i.e. redirecting appropriately, maintaining a strong presence, etc.). Has strong belief in the Agency mission and values.

Starting Salary: $60,000/year Salary for this position ranges from the “base” rate of pay (as listed above)—for someone with the minimum required credentials. Adjustments up from the base rate of pay could include such factors as years of related experience externally, educational background, years at another position within Wayside, needed language fluency, and/or particular areas of expertise.
