Our Norway, ME location is currently hiring for a_ Assistant Manager !_

The Assistant Manager will be under the supervision of the Store Manager. The MIT will be responsible for completing operations and management skills training, and learning about key aspects of the Aubuchon Hardware business and culture.

What we are looking for:

  • Support the Store Manager in delivering consistent results in sales, service, and profitability through operational excellence.
  • Ensure weekly price changes, monthly cycle counts, and loss reports are being completed.
  • Provide top-tier customer service and product information on the store sales floor.
  • Ensure effective expenses and payroll budgeting, while communicating business needs with the Regional Support Team.
  • Interview, hire, verify documentation, onboard, resolve team member issues, deliver corrective action, and terminate team members in collaboration with the Regional HR Support Team and HR Support Center.
  • Train and develop team members to be successful in their role to retain, grow, and build a strong talent bench for our next generation of store leaders.
  • Perform all tasks as assigned, including cashiering, stocking shelves, receiving merchandise, processing shipments and store stocking, store cleanliness, sales, and operating equipment.
  • Adhere to and promote all company policies and procedures, OSHA and other safety regulations, and all state mandated regulations.
  • Comply and champion Aubuchon’s Core Values at all times.
  • Travel less than 10% of the time.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Assistant Managers must maintain satisfactory performance and demonstrate consistent progression throughout the training program in order to remain in consideration for management openings.

Assistant Managers position does not guarantee promotion into a Store Manager position, it is dependent on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, performance and availability of openings.

What we are looking for from you:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities required.
  • Must be open to relocation, working flexible hours, and a minimum 40 - 47 hours a week.
  • 2+ years of retail experience.
  • 1+ years of leadership experience in retail, hardware preferred.
  • Experience leveraging sales and profit opportunities through shrink management and safety performance.
  • Ability to interpret sales reporting documents.
  • Strong leadership, customer service, and organizational skills with a positive and professional personality.
  • Forklift certification is a plus, you will get certified through training.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to complete store-related physical activities (walking, standing, talking, hearing, twisting, pushing, reaching, seeing, stooping/crouching, smelling, depth perception, identifying colors) as needed.
