Summary

ZCCC is looking for an assistant lead teacher for our four-year-old program:

The position will be an assistant lead teacher position with the hours of 8:30-5:30 This position will be full-time (40 hours/week). Candidate must have previous childcare/daycare experience and must be 18 years of age. If you have a passion for shaping young minds, we would love to chat. This position would be responsible for maintaining a daily routine for a structured learning environment, along with many other duties required for our growing daycare center.



Duties


Lead Teacher for 4-year-olds Job Description
� Maintain a daily routine for a structured/flexible learning environment.
� Teach children how to use the restroom responsibly.
� Provide an enriching environment that includes physical activity, music, art, center time (writing, art, math, science, reading, and sensory processing), as well as circle time (calendar, Bible stories, etc.).
� Encourage children to focus on healthy eating for snacks and lunch.
� Maintain a clean/safe classroom (sweeping, mopping, wiping down used toys/books, classroom restroom, etc.).
� Follow the curriculum that is provided.
� Encourage healthy living, have lessons/snacks/lunch outside, depending on the weather.
� Work with teammates to communicate with parents (in person, ProCare parent engagement app, etc.) and develop a close relationship with both parents and teammates.
� Maintain a safe ratio (10 children: 1 teacher).
� Create and distribute a monthly newsletter to parents (included with curriculum).
� Provide safe indoor/outdoor play.
� Teach good hygiene.
� Encourage children to be kind to others and make good decisions.
� Maintain a classroom schedule.
� Promote music and movement to help navigate energy levels and strengthen motor skills.
� Care for and encourage each child through hugs, soothing words, etc.
� Administer daily health check.

Requirements

o Previous daycare/preschool experience
o Background checks

Health/First Aid:

o CPR/First Aid Certification- if you are not already certified we will set up and pay for your training.
o Staff Health Report (updated annually)
o T. B. Screening (updated every 2 years)

Training: Once offered the position all of the training information will be given to you. You must be willing to complete every year. We are inspected by the Department of Education, and these are required trainings.

o Virginia Pre-Service Training through Penn State (10 hours)-prior to starting employment.
o Virginia Pre-service updated training (3 hours)-updated annually.
o Mandated Reporters Training-prior to starting employment.
o Health Screening for childcare professionals (updated yearly)
o 16 hours of annual training (updated annually)

Nice To Haves

Current Medication Administration Training (MAT) certification
CPR certified



Benefits

There will be a probation period of 30 days for new hires. ZCCC will use the probationary period as a time to assess whether the new hire or newly promoted employee is a good fit for the position.

Paid time off will be issued after the employee has worked four consecutive months with ZCCC. If time off needs to be taken within the first four months of employment, employees will use the allotted unpaid time off granted, which is seven (7) days (56) hours.
