Department Summary
The Center for Learning Experimentation, Application, and Research (DSI CLEAR) assists faculty in their mission to provide world-class online programs and courses. We support accessible course design, multimedia production, faculty development, and digital instructional technologies.

Position Overview
The Assistant Faculty Development Specialist (AFDS) assists the Faculty Development unit with supporting university teaching staff in the design and facilitation of inclusive learning experiences across all classroom modalities. The AFDS coordinates the logistics and operations of faculty development events and resources for the purpose of promoting evidence-based teaching that helps all UNT students succeed.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s plus 2 years experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Demonstrated ability coordinating professional development events and/or in effective program and project management.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
  • Commitment to promoting diversity, inclusion, and equity within teaching and higher education.
  • Commitment to service, respectful engagement, and continuous improvement.
  • Responsibility to exercise strong interpersonal skills and be a good team player through effective collaboration with people in (and outside of) the team to successfully reach established targets.
  • Sensitivity to the demands and dynamics of teaching and learning in a major research university.

Preferred Qualifications
Masters degree in relevant discipline.
Instructional experience.

Maintains own professional development in the areas of higher education and event management and promotion.
