Southwest Regional Re-Entry Center is seeking an Assistant Director who will be responsible for the following:

  • Managing Program Specialists
  • Assisting offenders with identification. (State ID, Social Security, Birth Cert.)
  • Reviewing all offender release plans and required paperwork necessary for compliance of contract. Formulates case plans for offenders to ensure the offender’s needs are met both pre- and post- release. Communicates with Probation and Parole in the development of case plans and provides an updated case/discharge plan to Probation and Parole to ensure continuity of care and follow up on post-release
  • Identifying offender needs and match community resources to those needs. (Housing, ICOTS, vocational, employment, continued rehabilitation, clothing, Mental/Medical etc.) Submit plans to organize, coordinate, and enhance reentry and transitional resources to create a comprehensive continuum of services to enable offenders to return to society and remain there successfully.
  • Managing and protecting confidential organizational information. Some independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize and organize diversified workload; may recommend changes in office practices or procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Establishes, develops, maintains and updates filing systems for submission to Department of Public Safety & Corrections.
  • Organizes and prioritizes large volumes of information and correspondence; regularly handles confidential information.
  • Works with Director on both special and ongoing projects which may include planning and coordinating class orientations, disseminating information and creating graduation packets. 4. Creates and maintains Excel spreadsheets. Must be proficient in MS Office with expertise in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Schedules and organizes complex activities such as department activities.
  • Assists the Reentry staff with tasks as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Reentry.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This job is located at a correctional facility; however, this job operates primarily in a professional office setting and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Schedule:

  • 8-hour shift
  • Monday - Friday (8:00am - 4:00pm)

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

A baccalaureate degree followed by three years of professional level experience in social services, corrections, psychology, counseling, vocational rehabilitation counseling or instruction, nursing, teaching at the secondary level or above, or in the treatment/rehabilitation of offenders/inmates.
