We are seeking a Draftsman / Engineer to join our custom architectural millwork team!

We have an immediate job opening and actively interviewing candidates now!

This position is responsible for our millwork drawings using CAD software. Individuals must be well organized, process-driven, ability to work within a budgeted amount of time and meet the deadlines, and have an attention for details.

Previous experience is highly desired.

Good candidates must be proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office, as well as other common industry specific and job tracking software systems to fulfill the role.

Mock Woodworking is an award winning millwork company. Founded in 1954, Mock Woodworking collaborates on beautiful and functional woodworking projects for architectural, retail, hospitality, restaurant and other industries.

Duties / Responsibilities:

• Create submittal drawings and shop drawings per the contract and architectural intent of a project.
• Meet AWI and Architectural Drafting Standards.
• Develop material lists needed for scope of project.
• Work closely with the Engineering Manager, Shop Manager, Project Manager, and others to ensure that project drawing aligns with the design intent and fabrication efficiency.
• Ensure completion of shop drawings in a timely manner.
• Seeks ways to expedite drawing time without sacrificing quality or accuracy
• Attends Hand-Off meetings to ensure complete understanding of project scope and timelines.
• Reviews contract drawings thoroughly to understand expectations and question any discrepancies.
• Reviews project specs and ensure we are drawing the current sets · Understands all AWI certified standards.
• Maintains and organizes drawings in job file per Mock Woodworking standards
• Uploads As-Built drawing sets.
• Identifies and questions items that are out of scope and/or different from contract documents.
• Works directly under the Engineering Manager
• Reviews take offs to ensure proper material amounts are being orders.
• Reviews building practices with Shop Manager and Builders.
• Collaborates with Engineering Team
• Performs other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to multitask
• Ability to collaborate on a team
• Proficiency in AutoCAD
• Ability to read blueprints
• Basic understanding of architectural millwork

Education and Experience:

• Associates in Mechanical Drafting or Computer Science highly desirable.
• AutoCAD Certification with fabrication experience highly desirable.

Pay: From $22.00 per hour
