Responsibilities

Guidance, Navigation, and Control Internship

To cultivate the next generation leaders in the field of spacecraft guidance, navigation, and control (GN&C), the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory is offering a unique internship program affording undergraduate and graduate students the opportunity to work side-by–side with GN&C experts designing and testing spacecraft for upcoming missions. Potential opportunities exist on flight projects such as:

  • Europa Clipper
  • Mars Sample Return Program
  • Advanced Entry, Descent, and Landing Systems
  • Spacecraft Pointing Control
  • Orbital Rendezvous
  • Mars Ascent Vehicle
  • Vision-Based Navigation Systems
  • Spacecraft Testing
  • GN&C Sensors and Actuators

Qualifications

What It Takes

  • Must be currently pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree
  • Studying a major related to Guidance, Navigation, & Control with at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale

The typical hourly rate for this job in Pasadena, California depending on education level is $19 as a freshman, $22 as a sophomore, $26 as a junior, $29 as a senior
