Application Web Programmer

Info Gain Consulting seeks an Application Web Programmer to support the Medical Research and Development Command (MRDC) at Fort Detrick, MD. The MRDC is the Defense Health Agency's (DHA) medical material developer responsible for medical research, development, and acquisition. The Command manages an extensive extramural research program with numerous contracts, grants, and cooperative research and development agreements to provide additional science and technology capabilities from leading academic, private industry, and other government organizations.

Duties

The individual fulfilling this role shall utilize their hard and soft skills to develop an understanding of the customers overall goal, vision, and objectives. Leveraging this knowledge and experience to support day-to-day tasks and activities. Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Evaluate the content, structure, style, organization, and aesthetics of the existing MRDC-hosted websites.
  • Review and implement Operations Security, Section 508, and regulatory compliance for all MRDC-managed websites.
  • Coordinate with MRDC to define goals and requirements for refinement and future development of websites and content.
  • Develop and implement a web design and development plan that includes actions and milestones for requirements determination, design, testing, documentation, training, and implementation based on evaluation results and Government feedback,
  • Utilize an agile methodology for all development efforts to ensure the MRDC customer remains fully engaged.
  • Create and maintain a comprehensive listing of all websites, including IP/VIP addresses, SSL certificate expiration dates (both commercial, where applicable, and server/sites), current content sizes, and content owner contact information
  • Ensure all production servers are clean and free of site backups and/or extraneous files that are not required for the proper operation of the sites.
  • Provide web design, development, and administration of websites.

Requirements:

  • Experience performing or directing revisions, repairs, or expansion of existing web programs to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements.
  • Experience writing, updating, and maintaining web programs or software packages to handle specific jobs such as tracking inventory, storing or retrieving data, or controlling other equipment.
  • Experience consulting with managerial, engineering, and technical personnel to clarify program intent, identify problems, and suggest changes.
  • Experience in graphics, layout, scripting, and programming, as well as development involving compatibility and seamless integration with various technologies such as Java and ColdFusion..

Preferred Qaulifications:

  • DOD 8570 IAT certification

Education:

  • Bachelor's (or equivalent) with 5 - 7 yrs. of experience
  • Master's and 3 to 5 yrs. of experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
