Long Description

The Sr. Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst is a member of the Client Business Intelligence (BI) Team managed by the BI Manager. The Sr. BI Analyst works closely with Executives, Project Stakeholders, and other subject-matter-experts (SMEs) at Client to fulfill information and data needs and to provide other data-based insights as needed.

The Sr. BI Analyst has three roles:
1) BI Specialist – Create reports, dashboards, scorecards, or other BI objects for publication and consumption by others. This role also includes the requirements gathering and analysis that form the basis of this development as well as the User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) designs that will result in the most effective fulfillment of those requirements. It is expected that the person in this role has strong business acumen that allows them to work with business stakeholders more as a partner than as a pure developer only.
2) Data Analyst – Collect, transform, cleanse, analyze and interpret data to answer business questions and facilitate effective decision-making by Client stakeholders. This role also includes proactive monitoring of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of business initiatives.
3) BI Support – Provide Tier 2 or Tier 3 Support of BI platforms, applications, or published BI content. as directed by the BI Manager. This is not entry-point support (Tier 1) but represents escalation from Tier 1 to the BI object owners (Tier 2) or BI platform/application engineers (Tier 3).

Responsibilities Include:

BI Specialist
  • Engage with Executives, Managers and Project Stakeholders to gather, document, and analyze information requirements
  • Create reports, dashboards, scorecards, visualizations, alerts, or other BI objects to fulfill information requirements
  • Publish BI objects intended for consumption by Client users
  • Configure and manage authorization to published BI objects
  • Update and maintain published BI objects as requirements, data sources or business rules change over time
  • Collaborate with data engineers on the BI Team on project requirements for their data pipeline design and build
Data Analyst
  • Develop understanding of functional business processes and data
  • Analyze and understand existing database designs that support business processes and applications
  • Query, Cleanse, Transform and Structure data for the purpose of producing analytical findings and insights
  • Document and communicate discovered data quality issues, along with their impact on business decisions, applications, and data processing
  • Create presentations, summaries and reports based on findings and recommendations
  • Create graphs, infographics, and other visualizations to communicate data insights
  • Define and analyze KPIs to measure the effectiveness of business decisions

BI Support
  • Respond to and resolve support tickets escalated from Tier 1 Support – for BI Objects created by you or assigned to you by the BI Manager

Long Description

Qualifications
  • Previous work experience in BI Development, Data Analyst, or similar role (5+ years)
  • Mastery of Data Visualization approaches, design, style and user experience
  • Advanced SQL (2+ years)
  • Tableau Desktop, Tableau Server|Online (2+ years)
  • Working knowledge of data warehouse-oriented Data Architecture and Modelling
  • Working knowledge of data warehouse-oriented Database/Data Management platforms
  • Experience working with coding languages—preferably Python
  • Strong quantitative skills, including use and analysis of large data sets, and proficiency with sophisticated mathematical and statistical concepts and models
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in synthesizing data, information, and statistics into meaningful insights and effective presentations
Desired
  • Tableau Desktop and either Tableau Server or Tableau Online
  • Tableau Prep Builder
  • User Experience (UX) design and User Interface (UI) style guides (preferred)
  • Python / Machine Learning
  • Basic Statistics including linear and multi-variate regression
  • Knowledge of data Integration platforms – may include platforms not in use at Client
  • Google Cloud Platform
