The Opportunity

  • Participates in the requirements development for applying business needs to technical applications.
  • May be involved with various aspects of the requirements design process.
  • May need to define and document internal and external user interfaces and support system and data requirement clarification and definition.
  • May support prototyping activities that will validate business requirements, solution definition and minimize risk.
  • Works directly with team members from business sectors and the applications development team.
  • May assist in quality assurance and defining testing strategy and risks.
  • Work is project-oriented and actual tasks will be defined by employee with direction also coming from more senior level business system management teammates.
  • Understands company goals and practices and applies them when resolving a variety of problems.
  • Receives general instructions on new work.
  • Uses judgment, creativity and sound technical knowledge to obtain and recommend solutions.

The Work Itself

  • Assist and collaborate with business partners in developing requirements and documented as dictated by the specific project for technical solutions that enable business objectives to be met.
  • Maintain change controls documentation to align with governance and prioritization routines.
  • Assist Project Manager and manager work efforts with preferred project management methodology and rigor; APEX, Agile/Waterfall, SRUM, and the application of project management concepts/methodologies.
  • Provide support for IT releases: lead post implementation verification and report out in Go/No Go meetings.
  • Assist with Organization Readiness/Change Management for projects assigned: Communications, Training, org preparedness exercises, etc.
  • Aid in change management and acceptance related to application and business processes, including communication and training.
  • Participate in joint application design sessions.
  • Review designs with stakeholders as needed.
  • Ensure controls in place to manage business rules, including version controls - change controls.
  • Coordinate various IT environments as needed: DEV, SIT, CIT, UAT, Prod Support, and Production.
  • Publish regular schedule of environment updates/file copies/configuration migration
  • Serve as SME for respective areas of expertise.
  • Work collaboratively with Business and IT stakeholders to prioritize application defects and enhancements.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify and streamline existing processes and controls, leveraging applicable software.
  • Position applications to meet future business needs.
  • Assist in configuration work as required in certain applications.
  • Maintain detailed documentation on system configurations; including business rules, controls, and process workflows.
  • Assist in development and management of communication to Operations partners for system outages and scheduled deployments.
  • Facilitate or aid in user access reviews and annual Enterprise Access Certification validation.
  • Develop test plans including capacity plans that may include business resources for test case execution, test case volume estimates, and timeline estimates
  • Additional duties as assigned.

The Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree preferred. 2-4 years' experience in financial services or related industry; preferably in project management or system configuration role.
  • Experience leading small to medium projects utilizing common (Waterfall, Agile, DMAIC) project methodologies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Business and/or IT experience preferred Experience in reading -/or querying SQL, Oracle, SMSS, etc. is preferred.
  • Familiarity with working in a matrix environment and able to work and deliver results in a self[1]directed environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrated experience and working knowledge of web-based applications desired but not required Able to travel overnight (25 +/- ).
