PURPOSE:
Responsible for the development, implementation and administration of policies assuring a safe
environment for both patients and employees.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manages the day to day operations of the surgery center
  • Enforcing and monitoring policies established by the Governing Body
  • Works with the OR Manager on staffing problems and issues
  • Maintains the physical plant
  • Financial matters such as insurance, banking and legal
  • Maintains all financial records and meeting minutes of the Board
  • Oversees the negotiations of managed care contracts and other payer contracts in
conjunction with the Medical Director
  • Coordinates efforts of AAAHC and/or JCAHO accreditation
  • Acquisition and maintenance of operative equipment , supplies and instrumentation
  • Maintains surgical records, unusual occurrence data and hazard control information
  • Participates in marketing decisions and actions on behalf of the surgery center
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by the Medical Director or Board of Directors
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • This position has supervisory responsibilities.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to express thoughts clearly to others at
all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills along with ability to work on multiple tasks and meet
deadlines in stressful situations.
  • Strong understanding of estimating, purchasing, accounting, productivity analysis, budget
forecasting, and scheduling.
EDUCATION:
· Masters degree in Business or Healthcare related field Preferred · 4 Year Degree Required
EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum three years health care administrative experience, supervisory experience and
experience with survey preparation from approved accreditation associations required

  • Ability to handle various tasks simultaneously, organize, prioritize, make decisions and work
efficiently and effectively under deadlines.
  • Ability to express oneself in a clear, concise and organized manner both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to think through a problem, analyze and break it down into parts to resolve or come up with a
logical solution.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment, keeping in mind company policies and procedures as guidelines.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.   • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus; will
use the computer continuously throughout the work day.
  • Employee must be able to lift a minimum of 20 pounds, surgical instrumentation or equipment.
  • Annual health assessment will be required to ensure the employee is free from health
impairments which could cause a risk to patients or interfere with job duties/performance.
  • Evidence of a negative Mantoux will be required annually, as well as, documentation or
immunization against rubella, rubeola and Hepatitis (or documentation of refusal).
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • The employee is subject to inside environmental conditions.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • The environment is fast-paced and requires the ability to rapidly accept change, handle multiple
tasks, and set priorities.
  • Possible exposure to communicable diseases.
HUMAN RELATIONS:
  • Interacts extensively with physicians, employees and outside individuals.
MATERIALS AND SPECIAL EQUIPMENT USED:
  • Computer, mouse, telephone, printer.
