The Boise Heart Institute is now hiring for an Ambulatory Care Aide . This is a new position to this clinic located on the Boise Regional Medical Center campus .

About this Position

The Ambulatory Care Aide will work in a team environment to promote a positive experience in patient care with compassion and kindness. As an Ambulatory Care Aide at the Heart Institute, you will support the cardiac monitor clinic, treadmills and also support medical assistants, licensed staff, and provider(s) in providing an excellent patient experience by efficiently assisting with the patient's needs. You will also support efficient clinic flow and communicate accurately and positively with team members. The Ambulatory Care Aide will work under the supervision of the physician and/or Advanced Practice Provider and clinical oversight is provided by the RN Supervisor, Lead Nurse and/or SAMG Nursing Administration.

An ideal candidate will have a strong desire to work in and learn about a patient care role, have strong self-initiative and communication skills, enjoy being part of a supportive team, and willing to assist in all areas of the clinic.

Work Schedule : T his position will work 40 hours per week, Mondays - Fridays, 8:00am - 5:00pm.

Minimum Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent required.

  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire .

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Organization's Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions.

  • Patient rooming, obtains vital signs, room set up for visit.

  • Performs POCT testing, screenings, and identified procedures after competency validation.

  • Maintains a clean, safe, well-stocked clinical area, including patient examination rooms and equipment

  • Maintains a complete, accurate, and legible patient medical record.

  • Performs clerical functions including appointment scheduling prior authorizations, referrals, laboratory/diagnostic, and referral tracking, processing insurance forms, etc.

  • Maintains a working knowledge of clinic office protocol/procedure.

  • Assists in emergency situations under the direction of the provider or licensed nurse

  • Observes aseptic techniques, Universal Precautions, and other regulatory standards (e.g., OSHA, CLIA, CMS, Joint Commission).

  • Maintains confidentiality regarding patient and business functions of the organization, i.e., HIPAA.
